With
a view to
provide free medical relief to gas victims, a massive medical
rehabilitation programme was
undertaken in which Rs.1416.66 crores have been spent under the
Action Plan till 31.12.2022. This amount has been largely spent on construction,
equipping, staffing
and providing free medicines and free medical treatment to the gas
victims through one
super-speciality, two speciality, three general and nine dispensaries. The total beds strength created in these
hospitals is 664. The average daily attendance in the OPD in these
medical units is about
3102.

addition the Bhopal Gas Tragedy Relief and Rehabilitation Department has made special
arrangement for free of cost treatment to the gas affected patients below poverty line suffering from cancer
in Jawaharlal Nehru Cancer Hospital, Chirayu Medical college and Navuday Cancer Hospital Bhopal.
